New shapes
- 6 shapes added to a new 'writing' set:
bookfront, bookopen, nib, fountainpen, inkpot and quill.
- 5 shapes added to a new 'halloween' set:
skeleton, ghost, spiderweb, grimreaper and gravestone. All new shapes retain separate colour and fill layers, including outline-only rendering.
- The quill anchors its ink contact to the plotting coordinate, including after rotation and resizing. Legend keys retain central placement.

New shapes
- 6 shapes added, motivated by International Coffee Day:
cup, mug, and takeaway to the 'container' set; coffeebean, pumpkin, and jackolantern to a new 'food' set. cup and mug steam shares the fill; a transparent fill hides the steam while retaining the outline. These are different vessels, not an ordinal scale.
- 3 shapes ('bowl0', 'bowl1', and 'bowl2') added to a 'container' set, then redrawn with a wobblier rim, a more irregular mound of porridge and uneven line weight; shape names and aesthetics are unchanged. Bowl body and steam share the
fill; bowl and porridge outline use the colour; a transparent fill hides the steam while retaining the outline.
Performance
- Repeated shapes with the same appearance reuse a styled template rather than rebuilding the artwork, substantially reducing grob construction time and memory for dense layers.
Improvements
display_palette() accepts repeated colours, maps each swatch to the intended colour, and gives a clear error for an empty palette.
Bug fixes
- Aesthetics varying per observation, e.g. a continuous
fill, are now respected for every shape, without requiring a group = id workaround, including when a shared group is explicit.
- A
fill of NA now renders the outline only, instead of dropping the shape with a warning.
- Repeated shapes sharing an identical appearance now each render, after a template-reuse regression collapsed duplicates to a single drawn shape.
